Photovoltaic Surge Arrester, Type II, 3 Pole, Remote Contact, 1000VDC - VPU PV II 3 R 1000V

The Weidmüller VPU PV II 3 R 1000V is a three-pole Type II surge arrester for the DC side of a photovoltaic array, mounted in string combiner boxes and inverter DC input compartments to protect the positive and negative conductors and the earth path. This 1000 V class is selected against the maximum system voltage of the strings — 1500 V array architectures take the 1500 V version instead — and the R suffix adds a floating changeover contact so an end-of-life module is signalled to plant monitoring rather than found at the next inspection.
