The Weidmüller IE-MC-EL-1GT-1GESFP is a compact, industrially-hardened Gigabit Ethernet media converter that bridges copper RJ45 infrastructure and fibre optic cabling at Gigabit speed. One Gigabit RJ45 port connects to an existing switch; one Gigabit SFP slot accepts any compatible transceiver module — multi-mode for runs up to 550m, single-mode for up to 40km — extending the network beyond the 100m copper Ethernet limit.
The SFP slot approach provides maximum flexibility: one converter unit adapts to any distance requirement by swapping the module (sold separately). Operation is fully plug-and-play — no configuration required. Operating temperature -40°C to +75°C, metal fanless DIN-rail housing.
