The Weidmüller PRO DCDC 96W 12V/12V 8A takes a 9 to 18 V DC input and rebuilds it as a clean, galvanically isolated 12 V DC output at 8 A — same nominal voltage in and out, so this is the isolator and stabiliser of the range rather than a step-up or step-down unit. Specify it to break earth loops between 12 V circuits, or to hold 12 V steady on a battery-backed feeder where the source sags under load.
